French children of years 1950, 1960 have many comics to read. Not only in the magazines for themselves, but also on the daily newspapers of the fathers, and on the weekly magazine of the mothers.
In this site, we learn the comics of the belgian magazine called "Femmes d'Aujourd'hui" (= "Women of Today"). In 1961, there were 1,122,000 copies in France, around 200,000 in Belgium. There were only three pages of comics, but they were read by all the family, children, parents, great-parents ! |
These page are coming from a study of 20 pages (many more illustrations than here !), published in Les Cahiers Pressibus #6 (Cf. our sub-site about the comics studies). |
